Prepress Requirements

Fonts
Supply both screen and printer fonts. If you have EPS files which include text, send the fonts for those files also.

Fonts can vary from vendor to vendor. If you don't supply your own fonts it might result in subtle or obvious differences in your document including text reflow. If you have embedded EPS files which include text that is not converted to curves, be sure to send the fonts for those files as well. You could embed all your fonts or convert text to curves to avoid having to send font files.

Graphics
Send all linked images and fonts used in your Quark/Indesign document. Photoshop or pixel image files imported into document should be CMYK tiff or eps files and should have a resolution of at least 300 dpi.

All image files that contain photography, and special graphic effects such as drop shadows and glows are normally raster files and will print fine as long as the file is no less than 300 dpi. However, when using text, line art and flat solid colour, it is highly recommended to provide us with a vector based EPS, PDF or AI to ensure that the final print turns out nice and sharp.

You must provide us with a colour printout and separations of your artwork. Include a list of all fonts used as well as a list of all the files that appear on your disk. Include a dummy or mockup of your finished project to show how it is to be cut, folded, or bound.

Templates
All files must coincide with specific templates. These templates can be found on our website at http://www.mediars.com/tutorials.asp. If you require a specific dieline, just inform your account representative.

All files require a bleed(0.25”) and type safety(0.125”) for cutting purposes. Information on this can be found on our website at http://www.mediars.com/tutorials.asp.

*Delivering the File(s)
We accept CDR and Zip for files without compression. Email attachments, or FTP uploads will be accepted only in compressed format

Silkscreen Printing Process
All CD, CD-R and DVD artwork should be setup according to MRS’s templates, which can be found at http://www.mediars.com/tutorials.asp. Be sure to consult your account representative before choosing a template.
